Dude just clear all settings and restore as new, all your info is then gone,

Actually just resetting your settings and restoring will not wipe it completely. The best thing to do is "Erase all content and settings."

It will take an hour or more depending on size (32gb is like 2-3 hrs!)

Once it finish, the phone will be wiped and you will have to connect it to iTunes and restore the firmware from scratch.

+1 I've been preaching this for so long. People don't listen.
 
Apparently people can recover your pics, texts, calls, etc.
I thought by now everyone knew data can be recovered unless the storage media is written/deleted many times over.

If you didn't know that then think about this, giving an old computer to charity or throwing it out, compromises the data that was on the drives. Either destroy the drives or run a write/delete program on them first.
