I was looking into waiting to buy an Ipod Touch sometime in September, in case of a refresh. However, I am in desperate need of a portable media player, so I plan on buying an Iphone and unlocking it, possibly using it on T-Mobile . So my options are to buy an old Iphone or the new Iphone 3G. I can get an unlocked 16gb Iphone 3G for about $500 from the UK via one of my friends. The old Iphone is around the same price on Craigslist.
The only thing stopping me is the possible lack of warranty. Would it be possible to buy Applecare Protection in the US and apply it so I could get global coverage? I tried searching up on it but my search terms must be pretty poor because I got a few good hits but mostly on the Ipod Touch.
