Before upgrading to panther (clean install) i thought i backed up everything. I backed up the address book files in my library but didnt export them as vcards. Is there anyway to use these files to import my address into panther, or have i lost this stuff forever?

Is it possible to load the files i did save onto a machine running Jaguar, then open them with jaguar's address book, export as vcard and load on to panther, or are the files i salvaged useless?

I had the same problem, I backed up my whole Library from Jag, copied my Address Book files into my new Panther Library in the same place, but it didn't work! I had done the same thing before when rebuilding 10.2, and it worked fine, they must have done something different with the Panther Address Book. Lucky for me I had iSync'd my Address Book, so I could get them back that way.
Your best bet is probably to take your files to a mates computer running Jag and try to recover them there.
