I'm having problems with Firefox and want to start using Chrome but whenever I use the procedure in Chrome to import bookmarks from Firefox, I find the Bookmarks are outdated . . . not like the current settings I have in Firefox. What's happening here please?

Importing Firefox Bookmarks to Chrome

Exactly what procedure are you using? If you haven't tried this, I'd suggest exporting your Firefox bookmarks to an html file and then importing that file into Chrome.
In Bookmarks Chrome has a system for importing from other browsers. That's what I used. I also tried your suggestion and that was equally unsuccessful. Only bookmarks on the toolbar were transferred as far as I can see.
