Hi,

I am creating audio files in Garage Band and want to import them into FCE4. I am more concerned with file quality than with file size.

I am using Garage Band 08. How do I export music so it is in a file compatible with FCE4? The FCE4 manual recommends not using AAC or mp3 files which are the only two options I saw in Garage Band.

Thanks,
Mary

Figured it out!

The default under share to disk was checked for compression. Once I unchecked the compression button, it saved to an aif file and could be imported. :D

Yes, the AIFF (uncompressed) method is the best format to use in FCE4. You do not need to render the audio.

However, you can import MP3s (or ACCs I think) into FCE4 but you just have to render the audio in the Timeline. Just an FYI.
