I have imovie 08 on my laptop. I am a teacher and the kids did a project on their computers. I downloaded them to my portable external drive and now want to burn them. I am having a difficult time importing them into imovie. Any ideas? Thanks!

If you are just burning the files then you don't need iMovie unless you planned on editing their files. You can use iDVD or Toast or the Finder just burn the files.
Also, what type of files are these? mpeg or wmv....etc.

I think that imovie 06 is not compatible with imovie 08. So that might be your problem too

It is saved as .rcproject. So when I go into idvd and open a new project, I click on my external hd and all the files are there, however, they are shaded out.
