Has anyone ever bought an lcd monitor, specifically the dell 2005fpw from the states that would know approximately what the duty and charges would be?

Thanks

Buy it from Dell Canada, you don't want to know how much it would be... not to mention the shipping form the USA to Canada, or, more specifically, packaging it.

that would be nice but unfortunately it is 859 dollars plus tax which works out to 979 bucks. So technically if it was an extra 200 bucks im still better off.

Duff-Man says....you will be charged GST and PST on the full value converted to cdn$...depending on shipping method you may also have to pay brokerage fees. When determining what your potential savings may be do not forget to factor in warranty. I do not know about Dell but some companies that have their own operations in Canada do not honour imported goods for warranties so if there is a problem you may end up shipping back and forth across the border again which can be a hassle (and a bit of paperwork)....oh yeah!

You're probably better off going with Dell Canada. You should also check out some of the latest Sony or LG ones available at Best Buy or Future Shop. Not bad.
