How can I import .mts files that were created by my new Sony video camera into iMovie?

Thank you for looking.

Edit: Snow Lepoard 10.6.8, iMovie 11 and iMac 2.4GHz w/ 4GB RAM

When you connect the camera to the Mac and open iMovie and go to "Import from Camera", is the camera not recognised?

Btw, what version of Mac OS X, iMovie and what exact Mac model do you use?

Thank you simsaladimbamba.

I can see the .mts files but I can't import them into iMovie 11.

Thank you simsaladimbamba.

I can see the .mts files but I can't import them into iMovie 11.

Where can you see the .mrs files?

iMovie should be able to directly import from the camera, no need for the .mts files to be imported manually, as iMovie does not support them that way.
Is your camera recognised in iMovie?

You are right simsaladimbamba. In iMovie I went to import from camera and I was able to import the video.

Many thanks.
