Importing my photos from my old mac

I saved my user directory from my old mac and tried putting my iphoto directory into my new macs iphoto directory but my photos and albums aren't showing up. Anyone know how to do this?

You should have "iPhoto Library" in your pictures folder. That should be it. It sounds like you might have your saved library, in the new library folder. This would then mean there are 2 folders and might be confusing iPhoto.
