Importing Saved Bookmarks

Currently using Safari 5.0.6. I have all my bookmarks from TenFourFox backed up on an external drive. Why won't Safari recognize the file, and how can I import the bookmarks?

When I select Import Bookmarks and then navigate to the TFF folder, all the backed up data files appear 'grayed out'.

(runing OS 10.5.8 on a G-4 tower)
