Importing version sets from Photoshop Elements?

My wife and have been using Photoshop Elements to organize our pictures for several years under Windows. I recently got a new iMac, and I'm in the process of importing all of our pictures into iPhoto.

I figured out how to export all of our tags from Windows, but I can't figure out how to keep our version sets. Is there any way to keep the Photoshop Elements version sets when importing into iPhoto? It's annoying that we now have about 2000 extra pictures in our iPhoto library that are just older, edited versions of other photos. :(
