Importing video from HD Camera into FCE 4 with USB

Hi,

I have just got my hands on FCE 4 as I found Imovie 9 was too limiting and am already having difficulties. FCE 4 is so much harder!

I am having trouble importing video from my HDD camcorder through the USB cord provided in FCE 4 however it works automatically in Imovie. I have tried the log and transfer button without success.

I am aslo having trouble importing projects from Imovie. Can anyone help?

As far as the second question goes, in iMovie, go to the Share menu and select As Final Cut XML - that should import right into FCE4 (I dont know as I only use iMovie HD '06 with FCE - I hate the newer ones).
