Here's the story:

I am having difficulty importing video to my Mac. I've tried Final Cut Pro as well as iMovie '08. I'm running Mac OS X Leopard (10.5.2) on an Intel Macbook Pro with 4GB of RAM. I recorded the video using the highest quality setting (24p is off by the way). It's a short 3 minute or so clip that I took just to play with the buttons. Upon importing/log and transfer, the program will immediately crash. FCP gives this error:

Exception Type: EXC_BAD_ACCESS (SIGBUS)
Exception Codes: KERN_PROTECTION_FAILURE at 0x00000000000003c6
Crashed Thread: Unknown

I've tried importing via USB directly from the camera as well as through an SDHC card reader in my Expresscard slot. The card reader and card are both fully functional as I've tested them with simply file copies and the like.

This is REALLY annoying. Any ideas folks?

Also, any thoughts about if this is a software problem with Apple's stuff or a firmware problem with Panasonic's?

Same Problem Here

I would encourage you to contact both Apple and Panasonic. I have and the more people who do the more likely they will be to come up with a fix. I have had the same problem exactly. I'm thinking of backgrading to the sd5. Which I could know for sure if apple is going to support the SD9.

I let both of them know. We'll see where that takes us.
