My brother just upgraded his firmware (not knowing that 4.0.2 was out) so that he had the latest firmware before Jailbreaking...but now he is on 4.0.2 the Jailbreak won't work. Is there any way for him to downgrade to 4.0.1? His iPhone 4 has not been jailbroken previously, so only hope is that there is an alternate method or Apple are still signing 4.0.1 (highly doubt that).

No solution but wait for the next JB. This is probably not going to happen until 4.1 is released if that.

Just tried and was able to save from Apple 4.0.1 on a 3gs so have him download tinyumbrella right away and save 4.0.1 blobs if he still can.

And, if he misses his window of opportunity, then he will not be able to downgrade. That window could close at any time.

Save dem blobbies!
