Apple has to figure out a better way to store the Apple Pencil when it’s not in use (something similar to Surface where the pencil is stored in the keyboard perhaps), because the current solution is not working at all. With the 11” model especially, you have nowhere to grab your fingers so it’s impossible to open Magic Keyboard with the Pencil attached without it falling off - and the user feeling like a moron, especially if the pencil falls off in a public place and rolls under someone else’s coffee table (this, of course, has not hapened to me).
 
Hmmm I have no issues opening it up with the Pencil remaining attached. I don’t think I’ve ever had the Pencil come off except maybe when opening the iPad after too many beers o_O
