I got a new 8 cores 2.6 with 10GB of ram (pretty useless let me tell you and I work in 3D animation in HD).

And I put aside my old quad G5 with 4.5 GB of ram... but... this computer knows me! It have been my best friend for... 4 years now?

Every piece of software runs just fine and is loaded! From Logic Studio to Final Cut Studio and all the Adobe stuff plus any other audio and video application you can imagine. And it runs like a charm.

I was thinking in selling it but still so useful. At least with audio.

If it's still working fine and dandy, then don't replace it.

Enjoy it's longevity.

If you really think you wasted money on the new computer, sell it, or return it and save up for a time when you do actually NEED a new computer..

I'm going out on a limb by saying that I didn't understand the point of your post.
