So my 64GB ATV 4K came yesterday. As my plans to move to 4K are only getting started, I wanted to get the source material and player in place first ($200), prior to investing in a display, cables, and potentially a new receiver ($2000++).
One thing that I have not put a lot of faith in during this process has been people saying "I can see the difference.." in this or that. Well, I believe that more now.
Why?
Because I skipped the 4 and went from ATV3 straight to ATV 4K. The picture I get now on my 10 year old Samsung 1080p Plasma is amazing. It's really something to behold. If the step from here to 4K is as good as the step that was taken last night, it's going to be eye-popping to me.
I get that the unit currently has a configuration that some don't like, but I have faith that Apple will get this worked out. Each time something has been undesirable to me in iOS or MacOs, I have not been disappointed with the resulting updates.
Hopefully, this is the same.
... before I get my 4K screen on Cyber Monday!
