Improve iPhone 3.0 battery life

If I recall correctly, under 2.x if you selected to turn Push off and then selected check "Manually" under Fetch, you had an energy saving set-up. But under 3.0 I did that - but then selected "Advanced" and it showed both of my mail accounts as "Fetch" with "Manual" deselected.

So I'm wondering, if Fetch is set to "Manually" why is the Advanced setting contradicting that, and is it checking for mail occasionally and running the battery down? (I'm using 3GS)

Just go select Manual inside the accounts?
Spend a day each way and compare the results. Send yourself an email and see if you get it without going in and checking for it.
