During the past couple of weeks I have been noticing an improved data speeds on the AT&T network even during rush data hours. Before I used to get an average of like 2Mbps here in Miami, but now I can easily go over 3.5Mbps.

Does any body think this improvement has anything to do with the Tmobile merging?

Then it must be an increase of bandwidth prepping for their HSPA+ overhaul.

wow. i have seen a lot people complaining about AT&T's speed. i would gladly pay $70 a month to get even 2mbps speed on my iPhone. damn you lucky people!

AT&T completed a massive upgrade of all their towers and increased the number of cell sites in many major cities (where congestion was an issue). The work was finished on March 31st so that's probably the benefit you are experiencing.

Wao I'm so happy I guess here in Miami there was a lot of congestion and it qualified for an upgrade of cellular towers. I'm so happy, AT&T..... Let's wait for LTE now :)

I also saw a pretty big speed jump over the last few weeks. Went from 2.0mbps average to 3.5mbps average.

Wondering when testing AT&T speeds via app does it use a lot of your monthly MB?

4-5 Mbps is about normal where I'm at. Good to see it's getting better elsewhere though.
