There were a lot of battery issues on the 4S. Has anyone seen any noticeable changes since upgrading to 5.1? Have most of the problems been fixed?

I'm pretty sure Apple would have said something in the event if the update was supposed to solve anything concerning battery life of the iPhone 4S.
Unless you're referring to betas, how could we know that if 5.1 has just been announced?

In the summary for 5.1 Apple mentions that the update addresses bugs related to battery life.

My battery now says 160% and is glowing. I think that means they fixed it.

The update has only been out for like an hour...

Sure, force us to face reality...nice!

I, for one, can tell at this instant the the battery is MUCH BETTER!

It's nothing short of amazing!

I can tell it is fantastically improved!

Really...

No kidding...I can tell after five minutes.

For sure...

You were expecting someone to notice improvements already? The update was released not to long ago. Give it some time.

I'm just going to take a wild guess and hope you wanted to have a "hot topic" so you started this thread. But its far too early. Should wait 24 hours for true battery substance.

People like being the 1st one to post things and have a big thread as "theirs"... gives them a sense of accomplishment ;)

Yeah, i cannot even get the update. Says "unable to check for update"; "an error occurred while checking for software update."

I'm assuming it's overloaded or something?

Hahaha, I'm dead. I sure hope that they did something with this though because the battery on my iPhone 4 since the GM of 5.0 has been completely horrid.

I guess experiences differ. The battery life on my 4S has been identical (very good) to that of my 4 since 5.0.

I have a buddy who has had battery problems on his 4S with 5.0.1, he has updated to 5.1 and will tell me about how his 4S is holding up with the new software

I can safely say that with 5.0.1 I would eat through about 4-5 percent with just about 5 minutes of use while doing simple texting and browsing. With 5.1 I just lost 2 percent in 10 minutes. Although I can't speak overall from 100 percent, I am the happiest person in te world right now after being down right rejected by apple when complaining about the horrid battery issues.
