After you take about 50+ photos on your iPhone, you'll notice that the performance of the scrolling and zooming of the photos starts to really slow down, and become glitchy. This is most likely caused by the camera being turned on when in Camera Roll. Here is a simple fix that I applied and it seems to really work well, and improve the performance. Also, it allows you to sort your iPhone photos into separate albums.

1) Download/Import the iPhone photos to iPhoto library. (check 'delete items after download' to free up iPhone photos in one step)

2) Set up a smart album in iPhoto that adds photos to the album if "Camera Model=iPhone" (you have to import photos from the iPhone FIRST, otherwise it won't give you the option to select the iPhone from the list)

3) Sync that Smart Photo album through iTunes to your iPhone. (you can even develop smart folders by month, date, etc, then sync.)

4) Now access your photos in the PHOTOS portion of the iPhoto, instead of Camera. You'll notice that you can view them glitch free.

Hope this helps.
