I'm not quite considered a "semi-professional" in this field, but consider myself to be well above home movies. I'm looking for a camera that would be could to make films with. I want to make some movies between 10 minutes to an hour.
Any suggestions on what to buy? I don't have a big enough budget to afford those high end cameras (mostly why I would say I'm inbetween)

Can you give us an idea on what kind of budget you've got? $1,000 , $3,000 , etc.? Also, do you have all of the other ancillary equipment (lighting, mics, software, etc.)?

With a little more info I'm sure you'll get plenty of feedback here.

I'll go up to $1,500 if I have to, though I'd like to stay lower until I can get some more money. As of right now I don't have a mic or lighting, but would that as well. If you could give me advice on that too that would be great. I do however have software, right now I'm using Vegas 7.0 HD.
