Dear all

I had the original iphone & like many i upgraded to the 3G one.

Perhaps apple can explain to me why my in car charger, BOSE speakers & my old charger don't work (it comes up with a warning saying that the device is not compatible)

Surely another rip off from a big corporation??

I'm not Apple but I can explain it. The original iPod worked by Firewire. Apple has been supporting Firewire and USB power since the iPod went USB. Many accessory makers have stuck to Firewire power only and now the new iPhone only supports USB power. The accessory must have USB power to work with the new iPhone. This was not implemented as a "rip off" but as a cost saving idea. I'm sure that all future iPod/iPhone's will be USB only.
