I've just been trying to back-up my iTunes library by copying everything from the source folder to a new hard drive but accidentally moved half of it to the trash, now half of my music collection is deleted!!!

Can anyone please help me recover it? Any applications? I think I'm going to die!

1. if you didn't clear the trash. they should be still there.
otherwise
2. don't write anything on disk since new files will occupy the space vacated by old files. as a matter of fact, I would suggest you stop using it and find a new computer to prepare the rescue.
3. find some data recovery apps.

I don't think there are any free apps for data rescue. mostly are costly.

what about if somehow copy all the music from my iPod? Are there any freeware apps for that? Would this work?

Im getting confused, what does this have anything to do with iPOD? you have back ups in iPOD?

No, he trashed his music (OP: did you actually empty the trash after deleting the files?), so he wants to pull it from his iPod.

Yep, that's what happened. I'm in the process of recovering them from the pod now though. Phew!!!!
