vocals? I'm getting a mac soon and I'd like to do some drum covers using musical typing (it's a long shot, but hey).

No, unless you have the voice on a separate track from the music, but I guess, you just have some song with stereo tracks and remove the music.
Not even professional software out there can do what you want, AFAIK, as the voice is already mixed with the music.
Maybe MRoogle can help further?
 
Hmm, thanks for your, and 'MRoogle''s assistance, I guess I could just play on top of the original track, do you have an idea on how to do that?
 
It's possible to retrieve an acapella track if you have the official backing track for the song you're working on, it involves using the backing track to "cancel out" the music of the original song. I'm not entirely sure what software you would need but i'm certain garage band won't have that functionality
