In messages app how do you get rid of the keyboard

I remember being able to tap anywhere in the message app & the keyboard would go down
I can't do that on the iPhone 5 now

I remember being able to do this on my iphone 4 , it was jail broken but I don't think it was a tweak

I know you can click on messages tab to go back to inbox and enter again but tapping anywhere on the screen was easier

I know I'm not crazy

You can't tap anywhere in the Message app but swipe down from the top of the keyboard.
