I just got a new 2012 Macbook Air running 10.8.1.
i have iPhoto '11 (3.9.2) and Picasa 3.9.10.4
When I connect my Panasonic camera to my computer, iPhoto automatically opens and wants to import the pictures.
The problem is that I use Picasa, and I have the option (in both Picasa and iPhoto) to have Picasa open when a camera is connected, not iPhoto.
If I set both preferences to "no application," and connect my camera, nothing happens. Neither program opens, which is the expected behavior. If, however, I then open Picasa on my own, iPhoto will also open automatically once Picasa recognizes my camera.
Has anyone else experienced this? Is this anyway to use Picasa on Mountain Lion without iPhoto automatically opening.
Can I just safely remove iPhoto from my computer if I do not use it?
