Bascially, what I'm looking for is something just like the iOS native "Photostream", with a few more options. Photostream is doing most of what I need perfectly, it just lacks the ability to organize a particular stream. I don't want users to have to subscribe to multiple streams.

So I'm basically looking for an App that functions exactly like Photostream, but takes it one step further by allowing for some kind of keyword tagging or sub-folders within one stream.

  • I need a way to share photos with a group of people.
  • They should be able to subscribe to the stream and get the updates/latest photos automatically. I need it to be dumb-proof in this regard.
  • The stream needs to be viewable when offline. In other words, it updates when connected to the internet, but the photos are stored locally, on the iPad itself.
  • They can only subscribe with an invitation (via email). It's not public.
  • The photos in the stream should be able to be organized into sub-folders. For example, you have a main photostream called "Weddings" that your invited list of people can subscribe to. Within "Weddings" there are subfolders named by country. So if they want to see only weddings you shot in Bermuda, they can click on that folder and see the latest photos...
  • or... The photos COULD be organized by keyword instead of folders. So if the user types in a search field "bermuda" they'd only see the latest wedding photos from Bermuda.

If an iOS App like this exists, it needs to have ALL these features. It has to be very user friendly.

Apple's Photostream does most of it, except for the subfolder/keyword part (which is very frustrating). I've been looking for other gallery-type photos apps and I know they are out there, but so far, they seem to lack the auto-update and/or subscription features, or the ability to view offline.

Any suggestions?
