So I have longed for an iMac for awhile now. I am currently a student who needs a desktop. It would be used for school, Internet, steam, other gaming, media, ect. I'm torn between the top 27 inch iMac and upgrading the ram and possibly i7 or the 799 mini with Thunderbolt Display. I do like to game on my old MacBook but it can no longer handle any of the newer games. Thanks

Between those two options, the 27" iMac will be better for gaming. The minis now use intel graphics chips rather than dedicated AMD/Nvidia cards.

I figured. I've always loved the idea of an iMac. Probably only questioning the purchase because of all the hate on the new models messing with my head.

Defo get the iMac. But if you want to save some money I'd go for the i5 variant. It's plenty powerful!
