On the heels of todays Apple tablet rumor of the day, it's been announced that Intel has won the contract to provide Nokia with WiMax chips for their internet tablet products:

Since Intel is also supplying Apple it wouldn't be difficult to envision WiMax becoming the subject of speculation in relation not only to the iPhone, Touch, and Macbooks, but also other rumored devices. For myself, I would speculate that in the short term WiMax wouldn't make much sense for either the iPhone or the Touch but might make open up new design possibilities for other devices such as the rumored tablet.

WiMax is the 4G network Sprint has chosed to use. No other US carrier is believed to be using this tech. so it wouldnt have any effect for :apple: or the iphone
