I continue to hear from Apple support different versions that some Apple stores are doing the iPhone trade in at stores, and others are saying that you must send the iPhone in by mail in the pre-paid box? The reason I decided on doing the trade in is to avoid the hassle of sending in the phone by mail and waiting until they decide the trade in value amount. Can anyone really confirm? I live in the South Florida area.

Which stores allow it vary. This can change at any time. If new COVID cases in a region get too high. The best way to find out is by contacting your local Apple store before heading down. To see if they're currently accepting trade ins and if you need an appointment or can walk in.
