In-store pickup experiences?

I've not ordered online and done in-store pickup before, but doing so will net me a 5% cash back discount via my credit card.

I know that my store has the configuration I want in stock, but when I chose that option from the web it yields a date about 2 weeks out. I'm wondering if they'll really ship a unit to the store for me, or they'll fill it with one they have on hand.

Has anyone been down this road? Thanks.
