So I was just about to order a black 32GB iPhone 4 from Apple.com and have it shipped to an Apple Store in California (I'll be in California in a few weeks for vacation), and decided to have a chat with Apple's online store chat thing. The person said that the in-store pickup means that you'll just be placed on a list for a first-come-first-serve sort of deally, so I'm not exactly guaranteed a phone.
"...you can go to a store and get on the priority list so that as shipments begin to come in they can work their way down the list to eventually fill your request."
What's the point of the in-store pickup option? I'll just go to the store in a few weeks as they said they should get some at that time.
I'm seriously considering switching to the Samsung Captivate. I'm tired of Apple's games. You'd think that they would've learned from the 3G launch. They knew that this would be a mega-popular product, but they can't deliver the white ones (or even the black ones, as very few stores have any).
