Hello,

I wanted to know if it is possible that if I pre-order the new iPhone come tomorrow morning, Can I then take after I receive my new iPhone my current iPhone for the trade in difference to be credited back to my credit card? Or is this an on-line only option?

Thanks,

Trade in thru Apple can be done at the Apple store where they will take your old phone and give you a new one.

If you do this online, you will receive the new phone first and then you have to return the old phone within 30 days.

But no, you can not do 2 separate transactions and get the maximum trade in value - you must let Apple know that you have a trade in while you are getting the new phone in 1 transaction.

If you do 2 separate transactions, you can get a gift card from Apple but it will be lower value than a trade in at the time you are getting a new phone.

Yes, you simply pre-order for delivery, don't add the trade in at check out. Then once you receive your new toy, take it with you to the Apple store with the device you want to trade in, then they will credit you back the trade in value.

Apple is really trusting users...
I wonder how many companies would send you a new phone first before they get your old one.
But mailing takes time, it's better to do the trade-in in store.
And rumors say Apple Store has a more tolerate standard for evaluating the condition of your used iPhone.

I just got the iPhone 11 - 128GB in red thru T=Mobile and since they are giving me 50% off the phone with my iPhone 7 trade in - it's a real 50% off deal. Can't find anyone who would be willing to pay me $350 for the iPhone 7.

They should trust me for 30 days to send the old phone back because I have had an account with them for over 5 years.

Guess they have me for another 2 years under EIP contract of $15 / month which is a steal for a new $700 iPhone.

All I paid was tax upfront with zero down and zero interest.

They only credit your payment used after you send in old phone.

They still charge you full price up front. Then you get a refund for the amount of your trade-in, once it’s received and approved.

I was charged full price (which I knew that) they made it clear you'll be credited to your original payment method once they receive your trade in.

Or for those that signed up for T-Mobile EIP, I am getting $15 off per month for the trade in once they receive it.
Not a bad deal for $15/ month payments over 24 months & 0% interest rate.
Paid $71 in taxes up front and ZERO down.

I use prepaid so I just buy outright. But yes if you use a postpaid carrier thats not a bad deal at all.
