When you’re in an app, leave, and double press the crown, you return to the app.

This doesn’t apply to Now Playing, which has always irritated me, especially since it’s easily my most used glance for podcast control.

I’d use the Overcast app itself but that doesn’t have volume control due to Apple restrictions sadly.

Haven't tried your use case, but if you just keep it as a part of your dock and make it the first app in the dock it will be right at the top of the screen with one push of the button below the crown - hard to make it much easier - even when running it's fairly easy

Thanks yeah, I actually do just that! Would be better if it was accorded same status as an app though.

I’ve asked this question a few times on here and Reddit since the betas started, I’ve never got an answer to it.

Actually think it’s a bit better with WatchOS 4 because of the style of the dock, so if you make it a favourite app list instead of recent apps it will pop up with the now playing - pretty useful actually.

Interesting, thanks. Had both my phone and iPad on the beta for a while now, but decided to stay clear of the watchOS beta as I’ve always found updating the watch a bit of a chore, mixed with the fear that it’d brick and I’d have to take it in.

Besides my battery life hasn’t been close to WatchOS 3 on the betas it’s been surprisingly stable and good to me. Especially the last two releases and updating is really easy
