Hi, I am already debating if I want the i5 or the i7...

I actually have a mbp 5,5 2,26ghz 4gb ram, 60gb SSD+160gb optibay and applecare left for 1 more year.

I´m not sure for what its worth what those extra 300$ would mean... here comes the tricky part. I would be getting it probably when the back to school promo kicks in and might be my last chance to do so as I´m ending college life soon.

Im guessing on the long run the i7 would be a better fit?

I dont do heavy gaming...maybe some AoE 3 and pretty much it... but would love to try and get some 1080p video editing done(the actual mbp cant get it done, normally use a win7 Q6600).

I would also consider getting in the summer the SSD addition since I guess after having it now wont be able to live with out it.

(done some research and didn´t find the actual question i had ok, so dont kill me with "search" type related answers :))

THanks!

I'd get the base 15" instead of the i7. Quad core, discrete graphics, larger screen. Either that or go with the i5 and upgrade RAM and HD.
