Because I have done some reviews of their products in the past, Inateck recently asked me for my thoughts on their newly released BP2003 Bluetooth Speaker and sent me a unit for testing.
For those interested, the following are my impressions:
This product ships with:
Micro USB charging cable (no AC Adapter)
Auxiliary Cable (USB to 3.5mm audio)
User Manual
It takes about 2 to 3 hours to fully charge the unit and it has a 2000mAh battery that lasts about 8 to 10 hours on a full charge. The speakers are equipped with Bluetooth 4.2. The manual mentions that there might be pairing problems with devices using earlier Bluetooth versions and in such cases to use the auxiliary audio cable. I had no problems with pairing though.
The speakers are solidly constructed with a very heavy-duty clear plastic and are quite lightweight at 700 grams. I found the clear plastic design of these to be attractive although this is obviously a subjective issue. It does not feel cheap in the hand.
Pairing was quick and easy with my iPhone, iMac and an Android phone and the speaker seems to have a decent range as well.
In terms of all-important audio quality, I was pleasantly surprised. The BP2003 has two 12 watt drivers and an integrated subwoofer that packs quite a powerful low end punch. I think the high end of my JBL Flip3 speakers is clearer than the Inateck but that is not to say that the Inateck is bad. They sound really decent for what they are. Also, the JBL has none of the low end that the integrated subwoofer of the Inateck provides.
Both the Inateck and the JBL Flip3 produce a remarkable amount of audio power and little or no distortion even approaching maximum volume. While comparing the two, it is also important to note that the Flip3 is about twice as expensive as the Inateck.
Overall, I can absolutely recommend this device to those looking for an inexpensive, solid quality, compact Bluetooth speaker with powerful bass, very powerful audio period, long battery life and an attractive design.
The retail price according to Inateck's website is $49.99 but I was told there may be some forthcoming holiday discounts so keep your eyes on Amazon.
Disclaimer: I do not work for Inateck and have no affiliation with the company aside from being the satisfied owner of a number of their products.
