I just got my Incipio Feather case today for my iPad and it doesn't fit. One side fits fine but the other will not snap into place. Anyone else have this problem?

Is your iPad the 3G? I remember when the FCC info came out it was stated that the 3G version was a tad bit larger (0.3mm). I was wondering if this was going to be an issue on some of the form fitting cases like the feather.

Yep, it is the 3G. I didn't know that the 3G was actually larger in size than the WiFi.

Thanks Jessica.

I was not aware of that part of the site. I went to the Tech Specs and it shows the standard dimensions, but has this stated under the footnotes:

"Actual size and weight vary by configuration and manufacturing process."

Also, I remember seeing this article after release.

I don't know if the links are in fact "allowed" but they were posted on another site selling a case.

In my opinion though someone should tell iLounge. People (me included) rely heavily on their reviews and the fact that they said nothing about the fit (which is clear once pointed out in the 4th pic), tells me they're slacking.

This thread is ridiculous.

There is no difference in size between the 3g and wifi ipad.

I have my 3g in an incipio feather case. It works fine. You just have to push hard to clip it around all the sides. Apparently you are too weak to do that.

You're about 7 minutes late to the party there tiger.

+1

I have a 3G in a feather case. It was a little difficult to snap into place and I was initially worried that it wouldn't fit as well. However, with a little patience, I snapped it into place and it fits like a charm.

Except for the fact that I have a 3g inside the incipio case to prove that the OP is wrong.

What I meant was that I had already provided two links that disproves the person saying the 3G is larger. You came along and said the same ... hence the 7 minutes too late.

As far as your case fitting, did it ever occur to you that the case could have a slight defect making it impossible to fit? Did it ever occur to you that manufacturing defects are next to probable and when you're talking about something that is supposed to fit so snugly that the slightest hair difference could **** the entire application up? Yeah probably not

I said I thought there was a size difference and it was based off a report from the FCC fillings. As Jessica said, we already cleared this up.

Or the OP could have a bad case...

Ok maybe I am just weak. I tried really hard after reading your responses and I think it snapped into place. I had to use so much pressure that I was scared of cracking the screen trying to put the case on. Even now, it doesn't seem like it snapped into place all the way, but it seems sturdy enough. I'll try it for a day or two and see whether it pops off.

looks like zorahk was right all along.

i think the entire point of the feather is that it is extremely tiny and thin and minimalist (and consequently, tough to get on).

I have the black Feather case. Works perfectly on my Wifi iPad. Also, I can slip it inside a Sena Folio case for extra protection. I didn't have a problem at all. You put one side of your iPad in, then snap the other one gently. The case is great.
