Since this is one of the most anticipated cases for the new iPad, I decided to take some quick shots as soon as the item was delivered to me this morning.

Preliminary reports state that the Sleep/Wake function does not work with these units. I cannot confirm these, since I don't have a new iPad just yet.

The only thing I noticed while taking these photos was the leather strap was incredibly stiff and fairly difficult to remove. I imagine this would get better over time as the leather breaks in.

The back of the flap as well as the inside of the case is a light gray felt-like material, similar to Apple's leather Smart Covers. Shouldn't scratch the iPad at all.

Any questions, I'll try to answer them - but work may keep my away from the PC for a while.

Looks great to me. :)

I just picked up the re-done Belkin SnapShield, but it's a hold-me-over. Maybe this'll get my next dime, despite the strap issue.

One question: Does it seem like the corners the iPad would fit into have a little give to them?

Also, OT, your comforter looks deliciously mushy and comfy. :D

Are you planning to contact Incipio about the sleep/wake function?

The plastic on the corners are very firm, just trying to bend them without an iPad is difficult so I would imagine they'd have very little give to them. The texture is the same as their other cases, a matte black with a rubbery feel to it.

As far as the comforter is concerned, you are correct. It keeps me warm during these cold SoCal nights! Ikea FTW.

I'm not planning to contact them just yet. I have a feeling with the number of preorders made on this case they will hear about it. I ordered an Incipio Feather back with the iPhone 4 was released and their initial run was not aligned properly, so they sent everyone a replacement. I imagine they would do something similar this time.

Why oh why did Apple screw over 3rd party case manufacturers like this. It's a shame, really.

Finally, I wanted to add 2 additional photos I didn't get a change to in my OP. 5 photos was the limit and I took 7. Oops! Attaching them now.

Thanks for posting! Can't wait to get mine! It has been more anticipation for the case than the iPad itself at this point! :p

I'm disappointed to hear that the magnets are off and expect Incipio to replace it as they've done with their products in the past, especially given they have lifetime warranties as well.

It's a shame Apple made this slight variance and didn't inform 3rd parties, but at the same time, Incipio should have probably not tried to jump the gun and make sure it was a solid product before releasing it to the public; so the profit loss is on them.

They likely took advantage of a TON of pre-orders as they were one of the first to have a case "available", but now that the dust has settled, consumers had to wait longer for this case than other manufacturers and at the end of the day it won't work as advertised with the magnet issue.

where is your new ipad!!!! kinda pointless to see the case on it's own.
Thanks anyway!

Since the magnets on the case are placed differently causing it not to work, will it damage the iPad if you continue using it?

Made a video. Although stills do a better job at showing detail. I figured this would be useful for some

Also, it shows that sleep/wake feature doesn't work. A shame too because I like the look and feel.

No offense, but glad I cancelled my order. The case looks very good in the pictures but rather cheap in that video.

I guess it's good, it eases the supply of nicer cases. I'm shocked this case is popular, it's ugly, big ol logos and all.
what's the appeal of it?
like many other 'new' 3 cases, it copies my iPad2 iCarer and the earlier Macally Bookstand for iPad1. but both of those looked much better.

The appeal was that it was supposed to be available the same day the the iPad was released and suckers such as myself bought into it. I needed the case that day so that I could use the stand up feature at work later that night. Needless to say, here it is almost a week later and still no case. Therefore, the appeal has worn off. Now that I have purchased another case already, this one will go back to Incipio ASAP.

I feared that strap would be stiff and went a different direction - sounds like I made the right choice for my use.

You bought a case that you needed so bad that said ESTIMATED SHIP DATE 3/16 and then wondered why you didn't have it on 3/16?
