I have apple's firewall enabled, along with stealth mode, and every time I open yahoo messenger, adium, itunes and about a dozen others, I always get a notification saying "please enable this app for network use." The funny thing is, all the apps that keep saying this are already enabled. How can I get this annoying notification to stop?

If you are using a router with NAT (i.e. your ISP connection is shared over a wired or wifi network) then you can turn that firewall off. The router will protect you from any incoming connections from the "wild" internet.

That firewall is important if you are connected directly to the internet (i.e. you have a public ip address) or if you are on a network you don't trust (i.e. public open wifi spot)

Good luck

Thanks for the reply! My landlord is letting me use his connection. I had to give him my MAC address in order to gain access to his network. All of the routers/switches etc...are downstairs in his house, as where I am upstairs.
