Incompatible Kext Files?

I have decided to post a list of all the kext files in hd/sys/lib/exten and i'm wondering if some will know if they should be deleted do to some incompatibility. Here is the list. I suspect that some are very old.

There is not enough information in what you provided. Are you getting an error? If so posting the actual error might help resolve the issue.

If you're looking to clean up? Be very careful in there, you could "break" the OS by deleting the wrong one(s).

No i'm not seeing error messages nor will I delete any files in that folder. I was just wondering if any of these kext files should be there.

Most of them (if not all) should be there. If they weren't, the system wouldn't work.

It sounds like you're looking for a problem where there isn't one. So, let me give you a thought...

All those kexts don't mean they're all being loaded. To see which one's are loaded, open system profiler and check under extensions:

Oh of course. don't delete anything. I'm just pointing out that although the list of extensions is huge, only a fraction of them are loaded based on your hardware configuration (and installed software in some cases) so the OP shouldn't worry that there are so many in the S/L/E folder.
