iPhone 13 mini and Apple Watch 8 running latest OS on both

Guys - texts to my watch even with full wifi & 5G coverage has been inconsistent. Latest software installed, did an unpair and repair and the problem returns after a day. What should I do next? Reset network settings on the phone or something else? I heavily rely on the vibration on my watch while cooking or in noisy environments and a delay in seeing them can turn into a problem. Thanks

why does the mean? some show up and others don't? some you can read and others you don't? How far away is the phone from the watch?
since you already un-/re-paired - contact Apple support

Are they RCS? Is it consistent which people are inconsistent? I.e., messages from Bob always come in and messages from Pete never come in? Or it’s consistently inconsistent for everyone? Does it correlate whether they’re RCS/SMS/iMessage? Is the phone turned on or do you turn it off?

It's iMessage from family members and also regular SMS that's being missed from other users. Phone's always turned on within 3ft of the watch. Thanks

Still not working. I did a reset of the watch. Should I next reset my phone and only network settings or the whole and setup as a new phone? Thanks

What do you mean by “reset”? Power off/on or un-pair/re-pair?

Have you contacted Apple support?

Just to clarify, if you are actively using phone - i.e., the display is on and it is unlocked - the message notifications will go to it rather than the watch. They go to the watch only when the phone is locked. They will not both make a sound or vibrate - just one or the other. (Personally I wish there was an option to choose always go to the watch when it is unlocked, but there is no such option.)

Also true when you have a Mac running with the same appleid

Answering my own question. Go to the Settings app on your Apple Watch. Tap Sounds & Haptics, then turn on Haptic Alerts. Choose Default or Prominent.

OK got it to work and turns out there was an accessibility setting that was reading aloud my text messages that I turned off.

It’s working fine now, but I would like a stronger vibration, is this a setting anywhere? Thank you.

Prominent is the setting that gives you stronger vibration - that's as strong as it gets.
