Little back story, on Windows, been using an iTunes Classic with all my tracks in Apple Lossless for the longest time. Got a 64GB iPhone 5S, so I have iTunes convert all my tracks to 256 on import, everything works fine. I don't really like album art much as I have a lot of promos/CDs with obscure album art, so I would rather have nothing than a spotty collection.
Browsing the Music app on the iPhone, I notice that album art from the 5 or so iTunes purchases I have made in my life, but never downloaded on my phone, are there. So for example, buying a Michael Jackson album ages ago on iTunes. Deleted it long ago, replaced with a apple lossless copy of a "Best Of" myself. Put the album on my phone, and browsing artist, the album art for "Michael Jackson" is that original album I no longer have.
Is there any way to prevent this from happening? The only ideas I have:
1) somehow the album art is tucked away in some obscure location of iTunes settings, so I just need to find the cache, delete it, re-upload the songs.
2) the music app on the iPhone does the syncing itself automatically, so any purchases I have made long ago on iTunes, the album art automatically gets synced on the phone.
