I took a picture with my iPhone on December 31, 2008. The iphone recorded the year as 2009. This is not that big of a deal, but it suggests that the iPhone does not handle dates correctly. Based on what happened to the Zune, it would be good to understand exactly what the mistake is, if any.

I'm curious to know if this might be related to the leap year: e.g. perhaps the phone increments the year every 365 days...

Have other users seen similar behaviour with pictures taken on new year's eve? What about with dates in other apps?

How about you take another photo right now and tell us what it says.

I'm hesitant to ever consider ANYTHING in the computer world with just one example. I just tested one on my phone and it came out fine.
