When I was logged in as a standard user I elevated with the sudo command a terminal to administrator rights. However, after I was done, I incorrectly closed that terminal. What risk do I run and how to overcome it?

I run OS X 10.11.6.

None that session is now dead anything done in it no longer applies when starting new Terminal. As well using the sudo command only last so long even in a Terminal that is still kept open, it times out after a certain period of time for some reason five minutes pops into my head after this you would need to re-enter password to execute another sudo command.

Edit: Well not exactly everything done goes away if you edited your .bashrc for example it will be read and loaded with the new settings or any other file edited and saved likewise. Anything temporary like setting an environment variable on the command line will be gone though.
