The SBSettings screen on my 4S shows the following"

858266e3.jpg

Note at the bottom it says I'm using 265 MB of 7756 MB...
and that I have only 166 MB available, presumably for more
apps via, I presume, Cydia.

How do I increase the amount of memory available?

Thanks!

Cydia extensions are usually a few kilobytes to 1-10 megabytes at the most. You'll never need the space, and you can't change it because the default partition has already been set automatically by the jailbreak.

The 256 of 7756:

256 is how many more mb of space you have for installations and downloads from cydia.

7756 is the free space you have on your phone in total

The 166: Free RAM for performance, this isn't flash storage like above.

Ahh...the plot deepens. I just cleared the "inactive" apps and the 166 MB went to 265 MB, so...you got it right...thanks!
