So I’m currently in the process of deciding which M4 MBA to purchase, the base model is more than enough for my needs of just general web browsing etc
However, I’ve just watched this video on gaming on it (which I’d never considered doing as I have a console for that) and I’m surprised and shocked at how well it seems to handle games, and not just simple small games either. Also remember this is the base model that’s being used in the video.
So my question is, if I were to upgrade one thing to improve any sort of game performance even further, would it be to increase to 24gb memory which also increases the GPU from 8 to 10 cores
Or, increase the SSD to 512 and stick with 16gb, to actually store the games, which again also increases the GPU to 10 cores - this would be the option if the 16gb vs 24gb wouldn’t make a difference to gaming
Either of these options are both an additional £200 (I wouldn’t be doing both, it would be one or the other)
Or third just increase the GPU to 10 cores which is an additional £90
In short, does RAM make much of a difference to gaming or would GPU make more of a difference
For the record I’m not planning on playing high end games (or any games at all, this is more to future proof it), but if I were to play something a few years old like the sims for example like is demo’d in the video
