Increase Safari "Top Sites"

Is it possible to increase the Top Sites above the 24 displayed in Safari? If not, is there another way to keep bookmarked favourites handy apart from the favourites bar?

I'm moving over from Opera and have run out of page space with only half my links displayed.

24 is the max per Safari Help. You can categorize bookmarks into folders in the Bookmarks Bar. This will of course require two clicks to go to a site link in a folder.
