Increase size of thumbnails in OPEN DIALOG BOX?

In the Windows world when I want to upload an image to Facebook I click ADD PHOTO/VIDEO or CREATE PHOTO ALBUM and the OPEN DIALOG BOX pops up with all my images. I can scale the thumbnails all the way up to huge and it makes it nice so I can see the differences in the photo in case I have several of the same, it allows me to choose the best one. Now if I do this from my wife's Mac Mini (Lion) or my iMac (Mavericks) the thumbnails are teeny so I can see detail. I know I can switch it to the scrolling album view but it only brings one image up close, I like them to be in rows and columns large so I can discern differences. How can I turn THIS:

Any help would be appreciated!

Maybe Default Folder X can do what you want? I'm not aware of other Open/Save dialog enhancements for OS X.
