I'm going to be getting a 13" MBP soon and since I was thinking about upgrading the RAM it got me thinking... because the GPU is integrated and uses shared memory does that mean that when I upgrade the RAM the video memory would be upgraded as well? or would it be static at 256MB?

9400M = shares with your overall memory.
9600GT = 256 or 512 stand alone memory.

That said, VRAM has LITTLE to do with performance in comparison to the architecture of the GPU.
